Areas of Coronado

The Coronado Village, Coronado Shores and Coronado Cays

With a population of just under 21,000 people, the majority of full-time residents live in the three primary areas of Coronado known as The Village, The Shores and The Cays.

The Coronado Village is the main area of Coronado that features residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, local schools and even Sharp Coronado Hospital. This is the most bustling area of Coronado and is best known for its tight-knit community feel. The Coronado Village is home to the Hotel Del Coronado as well as Central Beach and is the most visited area of Coronado. Homes in the Village vary drastically from quaint historical cottages to large mansions on the bay and the beach. Apartment communities also pepper throughout the Island. Exceptional dining experiences, local entertainment, movie theater, library and expansive parks all define life in the Village.

The Shores is Coronado's only high rise development comprising of 10 strategically positioned buildings. Situated just steps from the Hotel Del Coronado, The Shores offers a luxurious coastal lifestyle featuring spectacular views and resort-style amenities. With a wide array of floor-plans, view vantage points, and unique building amenities, there is something for nearly everyone at The Shores. It has been a favorite place for locals, part-time residents and seasonal visitors since its development in the 1970s. If you are looking for a low maintenance, "lock and go" lifestyle that is just a short distance to all that Coronado has to offer, the Shores needs to be on your short list.

Located approximately 5 miles from the heart of the Coronado Village, the Cays is a spectacular waterfront neighborhood that truly exemplifies the Southern California Lifestyle. With direct access to the San Diego Bay and Coronado Strand Beach, the Cays offers a truly indoor/outdoor lifestyle that is difficult to duplicate in San Diego. In fact, many of the homes in the Cays have direct access to the bay from their very own boat dock. Many of the residents take advantage of this with their own fleet of boats, paddle boards and kayaks. It is a truly beautiful place to live! The Cays also offers small neighborhoods of non-water front homes that benefit from all of the nature that surrounds with a slightly more affordable price tag than similar homes in the Village. The Cays offers a unique lifestyle that is worth checking out if you are shopping for a home in 92118.
